Role of the Institution in the GenomeIndia Project: The National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) had the role of sample collection of 624 from various communities within Karnataka, including marginalized communities.
NIMHANS completed the due process of obtaining permission from the state Government to collect samples from these populations and achieved the required sample collection target. The same has been sent to the sequencing center.
